Overflow answering service

On a job when the phone rings? Sí Call picks up.

Forward the calls you can’t get to, or the ones that arrive while you’re already on the line. Sí Call answers with your business name, answers from the details you’ve added, takes a message when it can’t help and writes each call up.

Plans open at launch. Nothing can be bought yet, and features marked “Coming soon” aren’t built yet.

Calls come in while you’re working. That’s when they’re hardest to answer.

Taps on a Google listing’s Call button cluster in working hours: about 19 in 20 come Monday to Friday, peaking between 10 a.m. and noon.1 Those are the hours you’re up a ladder, at a showing or with a client.

When nobody picks up

The two studies below measure different things, and each has limits, which we list in the sources at the foot of this page. They still point the same way: many calls go unanswered, and few are returned quickly.

  • 4 in 10

first calls to law firms and home-service companies went unanswered in business hours.2Mystery shopping · calls placed 2020–21

Overflow answering is for those hours. Sí Call doesn’t replace you on the phone. It picks up the calls you send it when you can’t, so the caller gets an answer and you get a written record of what they needed.

How overflow works

You keep your number. Sí Call takes the calls you can’t.

At launch, you forward your existing business number to Sí Call. Your number and your carrier stay the same, and nothing is ported. How you set up forwarding decides which calls it answers.

At launch

Choose which calls it answers.

For overflow, forward only the calls you don’t pick up. Your phone rings as usual, and if you can’t answer, the call moves to Sí Call instead of going to voicemail. You can also forward all calls or, where your carrier offers it, the calls that arrive while you’re already on the line.

You set forwarding with your phone carrier. We don’t print carrier codes here: they vary, and we haven’t checked each one. A guide for your carrier, with a check that forwarding works, is coming soonComing soon, and so are Sí Call phone numbers for a business that wants a new line.Coming soon

Which calls should Sí Call answer?

  • All callsSí Call answers instead of your phone, which stays quiet.
  • Calls you don’t answer (selected)Your phone rings first. If you can’t pick up, the call moves to Sí Call.
  • Calls while you’re on another callWhere your carrier offers forwarding on a busy line.

You set this with your phone carrier. A guide for your carrier, with a check that forwarding works, is coming soon.

A planned setup step. At launch you set forwarding with your phone carrier; this guided screen is coming soon. Illustration of a planned setup screen called “Send calls to Sí Call” for Alder Street Electric, a fictional business. It offers three choices: all calls, calls you don’t answer (selected), and calls that arrive while you’re on another call, where the carrier offers it. A note says forwarding is set with your phone carrier, and that a guide for each carrier with a check that forwarding works is coming soon.
  1. Forward your number

At launch, send the calls you choose to Sí Call from your carrier’s settings. Your number and your carrier stay the same.

  2. It answers with your name

The caller first hears that they’re talking to an AI, then your greeting. It answers from the hours, services and prices you’ve added.

  3. It helps, or takes a message

When a question goes beyond your details, it’s built to take a message instead of improvising: who called, their number and what they need.

  4. You read it later

The call is filed in your dashboard, by default with a transcript and a summary. When it qualifies, the caller is also filed in Leads with a score.

Calls at once

Your plan will set how many calls it takes at once.

Sometimes the overflow is a second call arriving while the first is being answered. At launch, Starter will answer one call at a time and Scale up to six. Past your plan’s number, the next caller will hear that the lines are busy.

At launch

What the next caller hears.

At launch, your plan will set how many calls it answers at the same time: one on Starter, up to two on Growth, up to four on Pro and up to six on Scale. If more people call than your plan covers, the extra caller will hear “All of our lines are busy right now. Please try again in a few minutes.”

Forwarding that caller to your phone instead is coming soon.Coming soon Scale can add more lines, at $25 per extra line.

Calls at once and minutes are separate. Starter’s 200 included minutes cover about 2 calls a day at 3 minutes each; minutes past the allowance bill at the plan’s overage rate.

What a caller gets while you’re busy.

An example: an electrician is up a ladder when a new customer calls about a charger install. The call forwards to Sí Call, which answers from the business’s details and takes what the team needs to quote.

Questions

Overflow questions, answered.

Straight answers about forwarding, busy lines and what happens after the call.

What is an overflow answering service?

It answers the calls you can’t get to: when you’re on a job, with a customer or already on another call. Instead of ringing out or going to voicemail, the call forwards to Sí Call, which answers with your business name, helps from the details you’ve added and writes the call up for you.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. At launch you forward your existing number to Sí Call, so your number and your carrier stay the same and nothing is ported. You set forwarding with your carrier. A guide for your carrier, with a check that forwarding works, is coming soon, and so are Sí Call phone numbers.

Can I choose which calls it answers?

Yes, by how you forward. Forward only the calls you don’t answer, and your phone rings first. Forward all calls, and Sí Call answers instead of your phone ringing. Where your carrier offers it, you can also forward the calls that arrive while you’re already on the line.

What happens when two people call at once?

At launch, your plan will set how many calls it answers at the same time: one on Starter, up to two on Growth, up to four on Pro and up to six on Scale. If more people call than your plan covers, the extra caller will hear “All of our lines are busy right now. Please try again in a few minutes.” Forwarding that caller to your phone instead is coming soon.

Will callers know they’re talking to an AI?

By default, yes. Before your greeting, callers hear: “You’re speaking with an AI assistant, and this call is recorded and transcribed.” The AI part can’t be switched off; if your own greeting already says it’s an AI, for example “you’ve reached our AI assistant”, it isn’t said twice. Choose “Don’t record calls” and no audio is recorded, and no transcript is saved to your call history. The call is still transcribed live so Sí Call can answer, and by default the notice says “This call is transcribed in real time.”

Can it put a caller through to me?

Not yet. Passing a caller to you or someone on your team is coming soon. Today, when a caller needs a person, Sí Call takes a message instead: who called, their number and what they need, filed with the call so you can call back with the details in front of you.

Will I get an alert after an overflow call?

At launch, yes: Sí Call emails you after each call, with a link to the call in your dashboard. Alerts by text or phone notification are coming soon. Calls and leads also show up in your dashboard, ready for when you’re between jobs. By default, each call’s summary and transcript are there too.

Can I buy Sí Call today?

You can talk to it in your browser for up to a minute, and pledge a Founding 50 spot to hold 20% off Starter, Growth or Pro for 12 consecutive months from your first paid invoice.
