Number porting

Most customers never need to port — forwarding keeps your number where it is. If you do want to move a number, here is how that works today.

Start with forwarding, not porting

Porting means transferring ownership of your number to a new carrier. For most businesses that is unnecessary: conditional call forwarding gets every missed call to your receptionist while your number, carrier, and phones stay exactly as they are. It takes one dial code and is reversible in seconds.

When porting makes sense

  • You are retiring the phone line (or the carrier contract) that currently holds your business number.
  • You want Sí Call to be the first and only system that answers, with no dependence on your old carrier’s forwarding.

How porting works today

Porting a number into Sí Call is a support-assisted process, not a self-serve button. Email support@sicall.ai with the number you want to move, and we will walk it through with our telephony provider. Expect it to take days to a few weeks depending on the losing carrier.

Have these ready — the losing carrier requires them to release the number:

  • Your account number and port-out PIN with the current carrier.
  • The billing name and address on that account (it must match exactly).
  • A signed letter of authorization (we send you the form).

Keep forwarding active during the port so nothing is missed while the transfer completes. Numbers you port in remain yours — if you leave, we cooperate with a port-out to the carrier of your choice.
