Human transfer

Give your receptionist a transfer number and callers who need a person get connected live. Without one, it takes a message — and says so honestly.

How it behaves

With an escalation number configured, the receptionist transfers the call whenever the caller asks for a human or the request is beyond what it can handle — the caller hears “One moment — connecting you now” and the call rings your number.

Without one, the receptionist never pretends to transfer. It takes a detailed message and tells the caller a team member will call back.

Setting it up

  1. Open Receptionist settings in the app (onboarding also asks for this during Launch setup).
  2. Enter the escalation phone number — the line a person actually answers. Include the country code (for US numbers: +1 and ten digits).
  3. Save. The change syncs to your live assistant automatically; no re-provisioning needed.
  4. Test it: call your business line and ask for a human.

Good escalation numbers

  • An on-call cell phone rather than a desk line that also forwards to Sí Call (avoid loops).
  • A number that is answered during the hours you advertise — transfers to voicemail frustrate callers.
  • For after-hours urgency (service trades, practices), a genuine on-call line.
